Our cold trap CTH40(WT) can be used in loadlock or small transfer chambers in conjunction with a turbo pump. It increases significantly the pump-down times and reduces the water partial pressure in the chamber.
Liquid nitrogen (LN2) flow through the tube cools down a cooling body to < -180°C within 10 min - 15 min. With this cryo pump the pump-down times are much shorter and an additional bake-out not necessary. The flow through version can be attached to a pressurized liquid nitrogen dewar or a cooling setup with a heat exchanger and nitrogen gas. In small chambers as e.g. the VSCT40 the pressure drops to 1E-8 mbar in approx. 30 min. opposed to several hours when using only turbo pumping.
Our new version has now an additional heating coil installed to achieve the same efficiency in fast warming of the cold trap. Via a Pt100 temperature sensor the temperature can be monitored at all times. Appropriate cabling can be ordered in addition to the cold trap. (No power supply or control electronics included.)
The CTH40 is available as stand-alone version or together with a small transfer chamber as VSCT40.
