Cryo Sample Receiver with 13 electrical Contacts

Common flag style holders do not reproducibly snap into position, nor do they have electrical contacts. With this design, we are adding the possibility of wiring up devices on flag style holders to up to 13 electrical contacts.
This particulair version is optimized for cryogenic applications.
The receiver is equipped with a pressure plate that can be screwed tightly to the sample plate using the pincer on the wobblestick usually present to handle the sample. By tightening the screw, an angled surface presses onto the side of the sample plate, forcing it down.
An improved  thermal contact to the cooling surface is achieved and the temperature difference between the sample and the receiver is only about 2 Kelvin, as shown in the document "Thermal Conductance Datasheet" below.

  • Wiring not included - factory wiring with a preconfigured set of cables is highly recommended!

Loading/unloading of the sample and operation of the locking screw requires a WMG40 dual shaft wobblestick with PGWMS(OM) pincer for flag style plates. The use of a WM40 single shaft wobblestick with GRABSHOM sample grabber is not recommended.

Mounting orientation must be strictly horizontal with the sample surface facing upwards!
