Tantalum Sample Holder for direct current heating

This sample holder provides a reliable solution for preparing a Si 111 (7x7)surface. All that is needed to heat the sample is basically a set of electrically isolated contact pins with leads to an electrical feedthrough. The heating stage DCH40 provides such a setup. Sample temperature is ideally measured with a pyrometer.
The sampleholder is split in two halfes, isolated by an ALN-isolator. The sample is held in place by two spot welded stripes of Ta-foil.
Alternatively, an SHBSDC model with two strips secured with M1 Ta-screws is available.
A current of up to 15A can be applied to the sample.
